Hello Kitty is a twinkling-eyed cartoonish character which is invented and promoted by a Japanese campany called Sanrio in 1974. Sanrio is famous for their adorable and cute cartoon characters, which Hello Kitty is one of them along with others such as Keroppi, Melody...etc. This line of cute little characters soon attracted millions of people around the world, first started in the US then spread very quickly to the Asian countries, then the rest of the world. Hello Kitty is the most successful out of all the Sanrio characters.
Hello Kitty has produced different products all around the world, in which they include wallets, watches, clothing, fabrics, Polaroid camera, portable cd players/steros, hankerchiefs, different stationaries, cutlerys, lunchboxes, puppets, the list goes on and on. In Japan, the car company Mira also built a Hello Kitty car, even Hello Kitty cellure phones are available.
The world’s cutest superhero launched the holiday season as Hello Kitty took to the skies in her Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade® debut! Did you see her?
On a perfectly sunny Thanksgiving morning, over 3.5 million people gathered along the 2 1/2 mile long parade route to watch Hello Kitty's first ever voyage over New York City. Sporting her Supercute superhero outfit, complete with cape and tiara to complement her favorite red bow, Hello Kitty waved to her cheering fans as she flew by. Standing at 33.6 feet tall, 34.8 feet wide and 45 feet long, Hello Kitty was accompanied by approximately 80 balloon handlers!

There comes a point when you suspect the acronym has got too long to be practically useful. Such a one is MMORPG, but I'd happily wallow in its silliness for hours if it meant avoiding the MMORPG that this post is about...
Yes, the online multiplayer world of Hello Kitty is almost with us. You can subscribe to the closed beta for now, but it will soon be open to all. Players will pilot their character's way through Flower Kingdom, London, Paris, Moscow, Tokyo and more, solving puzzles and creating a virtual world around them as they go. Linked to SanrioTown.com this aims to bring together all the virtues of social networking, Warcraft-esque multiplayer games and Second Life-style communities. Put like that, you can almost forget that the blasted cat is at the centre of it... Almost. But, sadly, not completely.

Pom poms take me back to my university cheerleading days, which used to consist of a lot of shots coupled with trying to balance precariously on my friends shoulders whilst shouting out vaguely spirited statements whilst twirling blue and silver pom poms. These may be purple and miniature, but the principle is the same, and they reek of school spirit, in a kitsch Hello Kitty way. Now you can wave your mobile proudly with these pom poms adorning it and express you love for the venerable kitty at the same time. And with such a large Mobile charm attached, you'll never have trouble finding your phone in your bag (though there may be issues in fittting it in).
It's never nice finding out that you need to lose a few pounds, but now that experience can be even more annoying, with the addition of the pink face of Hello Kitty, grinning up at you from the scales. Actually, this Kitty is pretty smart, and, in addition to telling you your weight, you can also plug in your age and gender and it'll tell you what your body's water content is, too, if you have a burning desire to know it. It's $129.99 from DreamKitty.
Another day, another bit of pointless Hello Kitty tat. Gone are the days when I could muster any sort of incredulity or even poke fun at it. For today I shall merely point you at it, and virtually shut my eyes and turn away so that I don't have to imagine you actually considering buying it.
If you are a fan and feel the need to splash some well-earned cash on the cutesome cat, that'll be $19.99, please. The only bit of advice I will give you is that if you're going to nick stuff from the corner shop, be sure you use a standard bike tyre or they'll find you pretty quickly.

You know, with every entry I post today I think that the next one should be about some "serious" technology. And then something like this comes along and there's just no question that I must write about it. Hello Kitty has finally been consigned to the toilet where she belongs.
Sanrio has expanded its ever-growing baffling array of Hello Kitty products with an automatic TP dispenser. It's programmable if you know exactly how much you want to use without wastage, and it's all pink and sickeningly cutesome. And expensive - $220! Even with the laughable exchange rate that's over £100. One for obsessive collectors only.

Not got enough Hello Kitty in your life already? Well, I honestly don't see how that can be the case because sometimes it seems like everything in the entire world has at some point been branded with the grinning white cat, but if you need a little more, let me present you with the Hello Kitty paper shredder. Now even the most boring of office tasks can be pink and Kittified. I don't know whether to laugh or cry...

This really is taking baby steps (and not just because everything's pink and covered in cutesy crap). The rebranded OKWAP i885 is a slider phone with a stylus, basically. And that's barely an inch closer to smartphone than before. Which in a way I thank God for, because I'm not sure I could take a business person seriously if they were toting one of these to a meeting.
Look, you and I both know you searched for "Hello Kitty" and "Swarovski" and that's what brought you here. I could tell you that this little laptop packs a hard drive of 120GB and 2GB of RAM, and that it has a DVD Multi burner but all you want is bling, damned bling!
And you've got in in spades, with this 210,000 Yen (£880) LaVie G computer that's been Swarovski-d to the max, with matching mouse and USB key. And if the specs have peaked your interest, you might want to know there's AMD power behind it, and a 15.4" WXGA screen.

As Hello Kitty gadgets go, I've seen worse. Which doesn't really make this actively good, but in the same way that gaming and violent films are supposed to make you dispassionate about once shocking images, when you've been exposed to enough plasticky pink kitten tat you stop wanting to tear your own eyelashes out bit by bit. Mostly.
The phone by OKWAP will be available to the Taiwanese market, although the price is unknown. It has no SIM and packs a media player and 2 megapixel camera. There will be some pink customisable themes too.

Sanrio and Epson have a lot to answer for. Specifically, two unrepentantly hideous Hello Kitty laptops complete with choice of display themes. The recipe seems to be to take one large squirt of Pepto Bismol and a quart of cutesy and stir vigorously until stomach has turned and eyes are watering. God I hate this cat.
Okay. Enough. You might love her and for that reason I am going to tell you the spec without any further cat judgment. The Epson A4 Hello Kitty Monogrammed Laptop is 3kg with Windows Vista as the OS of choice, plus an 80GB hard drive and 1Gb of RAM. The processor is a 1.73GHz Intel Celeron M430. It costs 189,000 Yen, or approximately £820, but what price a little pinkness in your life? More pics of laptops and themes after the jump. Mind the gap.
Presumably there are people out there who are not okay with wedding rings traditionally being relatively plain, and I write this post for those people. Those People, take heart, for you can purchase a beautiful Hello Kitty wedding ring. And you won't hear any complaints from the groom, since whilst HK still adorns this ring, it's discreetly engraved onto the inside of the ring. And you're in luck if you're the bride, since your ring comes with two pink diamonds. They come as a pair, and cost about $1,640. Who said money can't buy taste?
Hello Kitty was originally to be named "White Kitty" (from one of the cats that Alice kept in the book
Through the Looking-Glassby Lewis Carroll), due to British culture being popular among Japanese girls at the time of her inception. However, this name was not adopted.[citation needed]
When Hello Kitty's boyfriend "Dear Daniel" was created in 1999, designers took his name from the 1971 film Melody, which starred Mark Lester as a character called Daniel and features songs by the Bee Gees.
Hello Kitty's fictional world includes a whole array of friends and family members. Since 2004 she has even had a pet cat of her own called Charmmy Kitty and a pet hamster called Sugar. Charmmy resembles Hello Kitty but has more cat-like features. Charmmy Kitty was given to Hello Kitty by her father, George White, and Sugar by Dear Daniel.
Hello Kitty has been marketed in the United States from the beginning and has held the position of U.S. children's ambassador for UNICEF since 1983. The brand rose to greater prominence during the late 1990s when several celebrities such as Mariah Carey adopted Hello Kitty as a fashion statement. New products featuring the character can be found in virtually any American department store and Hello Kitty was once featured in an advertising campaign of the retail chain Target.
Many American celebrities have contributed to the character's popularity: Ricky Martin[citation needed], Mariah Carey, Cameron Diaz, Heidi Klum, Steven Tyler, Christina Aguilera, Carmen Electra, Mandy Moore, Raven-Symoné, Miley Cyrus, Varla Jean Merman, as well as Paris and Nicky Hilton have all been spotted with Hello Kitty and Bobby Jack goods. Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton was also spotted with a Hello Kitty handbag while doing a video blog with Ross Mathews[1]. Perez Hilton was also seen wearing a Hello Kitty tie on Victoria Beckham's show 'Coming to America'. Victoria commented on his 'fierce' tie. Singer Lisa Loeb, who is marketing the pink Hello Kitty guitar, has admitted to being a fan and has even dedicated a whole album in homage to Hello Kitty named Hello Lisa. 'Scene queens' like Jeffree Star and Audrey Kitching can often be seen donning Hello Kitty apparel.
A merging of Hello Kitty and the famous Japanese female singer,
was first seen when the "Tour of Secret" goods became available on mu-mo on March 9th, 2007. It is said they together "will make a new character". Ayumi is assumed to be depicted by the popular 'Ayu-pan' character ("Ayu-Pan" is short for "Ayumi Panda"), in which she has large eyes that are said to make her resemble a panda. All other information on the "Ayumi Hamasaki x Hello Kitty" project between Sanrio and Avex is currently unknown. It is also unknown if "Ayumi Hamasaki x Hello Kitty" will be released outside of Asia.
Even more recently, Hello Kitty and Hamasaki have combined to produce products with two other major Japanese companies; ASH & DIAMONDS [2], a famous jewelry and accessory designer, and Panasonic. The collaboration with ASH & DIAMONDS featured a cellular phone strap with Hello Kitty peeking from behind Hamasaki's A insignia, with a choice of either gold or silver to choose from. The collaboration with Panasonic produced a decorated line of LUMIX brand cameras, with the same image of Hello Kitty and Hamasaki's insignia. It appears only to be available to members of TeamAyu; Hamasaki's fanclub.
Several Hello Kitty animated series targeted towards young children have been produced. In the animated films made by Sanrio from 1977 to 1985, Hello Kitty has made cameo appearances in them (similar to Disney's
techniques).

The earliest Hello Kitty animated series known was the American-animated (co-produced with Japan) Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theatre, which aired throughout 1987. This show, produced by Sanrio in cooperation with DiC Entertainment, parodies various famous fairy tales and blockbuster movies from the period.[4] It was broadcast in the United States on The Family Channel, and a Spanish-dubbed version also aired Saturday mornings on Univision.
On U.S. television, the Japanese anime series Hello Kitty and Friends aired on CBS in 1991, and also ran on Toon Disney. On the show, Kitty is depicted as a little girl who lives with her mother, father, and twin sister Mimmy, who is identical to Kitty but has different colored clothes and wears her bow under the opposite ear. 13 episodes were produced, using animation produced as early as 1991.
On Japanese television, Hello Kitty (and pals) have starred in at least one anime series of their own. Hello Kitty's Paradise ran for 16 episodes between 1993 and 1994. This version was released in English in 2000. This version, like "Hello Kitty and Friends", also aired on Toon Disney.
Hello Kitty and friends also appeared in Hello Kitty's Animation Theatre, which had Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters appearing in their versions of different fairy tales. Available in the U.S. from ADV Films (who also own the video/DVD rights to Hello Kitty and Friends & Hello Kitty's Paradise)
Since 2004 the little cat has been featured on a MasterCard debit card from Legend Credit Inc. The card was released to teach young girls how to shop and use a debit card.
In 2006, it was announced Hello Kitty will be appearing in a new Japanese clay-animated series called Hello Kitty's Stump Village from Sanrio. At Anime Expo 2006, Geneon Entertainment announced that Hello Kitty's Stump Village was one of the series it licensed for U.S. release. Volume 1 was released in October, and Volume 2 was released in January.

The folks at Sanrio always have me wanting more. I already have a Hello
Kitty ID case but now I want this one. Its blinged, it has skulls and of course Hello Ktty -- all of those things rank in my top 20 most favorite things in the world.
There was once a time where I couldn't eat with chopsticks at all, now I eat with them all the time. I actually have a few sets of Hello Kitty chopsticks thanks to Alyson who was nice enough to pick them up for me. They really making eating more fun, I used them just the other day to shovel brown rice down my throat -- so delicious.
